A retina specialist is an ophthalmologist with advanced training in diagnosing and treating diseases of the retina and vitreous, such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal detachment. While not all retina specialists perform surgery, Dr. Wong is both a medical and surgical retina specialist and a board-certified ophthalmologist.
